Day729-Acclimatization

So we were acclimatizing already. the night was full on with a chill breeze and I managed to catch some of my overnight sleep. We later learnt that it had rained in Chennai and parts of Tada but somehow Sricity had averted the downpour. Also what lit up my morning mood was the complete view of the Nagala mountains from the south peak to the Tada plateau completely through my window. It was a brilliant sight and I couldn't take my eyes off it all the way towards college. The breakfast was okayish with a pongal and some Papaya in the watermelons for improvement. And thankfully this time the food came out of our fees. So was the Lunch with a Paneer dish that brought some smiles in the faces of students including me. Oh we were getting acclimatized alright!

Soon after the breakfast, we assembled in the hall to get our new hp laptops. Eagerly waiting to check it out, I was lucky to have been in the first slot of 10 students that were called in for the laptop. I had also met a Phd scholar Lakshmi Vishwanathan who was my school friend Praveen's friend who had guided me during admission for IFMR. So there it was! Box with the new grey/black colored Laptop with an impressive design, incredibly lightweight and a smallish screen. I wasted no time and started checking the specs in one of the college rooms. Even went to hostel and copied my 75 GB of pictures from my Harddisk to the laptop.

It was the the only thing planned for today apart from the Certificate verification and our first Semester books distribution. Thinking the 6 heavy books were for the 2 years, I happily took them to my room only to find out they were for the First Term which was the first 3 months! God please save thy Engineers.

And finally during the evening I spoke to Aparna who had spoken about Tree plantation in the new Sricity campus. Having mentioned the same sometime Email before, I approached her and we had a small meeting with a few more people, knowledgeable in trees and gardening. Each and everyone wanted a garden in the Desert by the end of the year. The acclimatized optimists, us, were talking and discussing some big goals with a stringent timeline of Sunday. Hopefully all the big talk comes through with a positive outcome.
